ok,
i have just bought them home, don't think i have ever heard a budgie so quiet lol.
a little boy and girl, who on the way home were chattering away.
still i know this is the lul before the storm so to speak, and
it won't be long before they are chattering out loud.
just thought i'd tell you all what i had been up to today.
yeah i see what you mean from that angle, they did look different in the shop though,
the blue one has got a more pinkish shade to its cere,
and the green/aqua marine ? one was a light shade of blue
with white, which should mean that it's a female.
if it turns out to be two boys i'm not worried,it's two girls
that i have been told would cause the trouble.
Awesome budgies Willow. Are those tame?
I love these guys alot, here are my 2 proven pairs.
The yellow is a female American Keet the blue a male English Budgie.
And my favs, the albinos.
This is a female American Keet. Its my sisters.
This is the "Big Cheese" of the Budgies cage. A male albino English Budgie. No matter how hard I try to socialize with this guy he never seems to give in. I dare no take him out for a photo shot cuz his bite is extremely painful.
And the little guy by him is my male Society Finch(currently homeless due to unfortunate accident) While they never hang out together the albino budgie never threats the little guy. Still gotta get him outta there asap
I used to have a parakeet about a year ago. She was an English Budgie; very big with yellow and green.
Now, I have a female Cockatiel. She is the loudest bird I have ever seen! Lol. She is actually talking to herself right now. Got to let her out to play once the dog needs to go outside.
Used to have two parakeets that would become vey vocal at dawn ,dusk, and anytime I was speaking on the phone. Once a week I would mist them with lukewarm water in spray bottle. They would move right into the mist and appeared to enjoy it. Also found sandpaper sleeves for perches which helped keep their little claws from becoming too long and thus trimming was not needed as often. They were very fond of millet and their cuttle bone.
thanks Tangy.
they are babies and have not been hand tamed,i shall give them time to
adjust to our home lifes goings on,then i will begin the process
of hand taming,i belive millet to be the way to a budgies heart lol.
your budgies are beautiful,i really like the pair,
at first i wanted an all yellow, however that soon changed when i saw
the two i chose.
i need to add one or two things to their cage next week, and hopefully
they will come out of there shells a bit,
i joined a budgie forum yesterday, and played a video of someones
birds,my two were very vocal, then the video ended and i've not heard a
peep from them since.
all in good time i guess. the misting is a great idea and one i shall remember, thanks for that.
i have to say i did think about a cockateil some time ago, however the screech that i remember put me off a bit,my sister had one years ago.
