ok i went to walmart and saw that a ten gallon just the glass tank is only 10 dollars. i have a hood extra from my sister that i need a use for and i really want some fire belly toads.... you know what that means. i plan on making a 3/4 land and 1/4 water setup with a corner of water and a shelf stood above the water to hold up some rocks slate and dirt. then i plan on getting a small pump and running it from the open water area with a tube to an elevated waterfall running into a small stream which leads all the way back to the water. i plan in getting pvc pipes to hold up a particle board flat sheet (cut down to size) that way i can place rocks and dirt for some live plants and i think it should retain some water for more humidity. its gonna be my coolest project yet and im going to remember to take lots of pictures along the whole process so that others can make there own vivarium or terrarium. check back im starting with buying the tank tomorrow!!!

wow thats a cool concept and i would definatly use it if i had a 20 gallon long!! too bad, anyways i looked at the size of the tank versus the size of the frogs and i really just want to scratch my other idea and start clean. so now i am setting up a half and half thing. one half land made out of gravel for a fish tank and the other have a slope with shallow water. for plants i want to get some bamboo since it will root fin in gravel and will have a good supply of water(plus the hood is flourescant so it will grow better hopefully?) i might make a cave or little hut or something for it later and ill take some pictures of what i have done so far.
hopefully youll like it.

ok well here it is so far. im going to get a backing for a sense of depth and maybe make a line of bamboo on the back. also where the buddha is im going to put a clump of bamboo there and where the pot is... well i dont really know what im doing with the pot it just found its way in there and i might take it out or i might not depending on how i feel about it.

well i changed it up a bit theres more water by a little and less land plus i took the pot and turned it right side up, added soil and then pushed up gravel around it making a small island thing. then i added a ponytail pom plant thats pretty small. hopefully over the weekend i can get the background and maybe bamboo? no pics right now my mom has "misplaced the camera"

I would reccomend the opposite, 1/4 land and 3/4 water, i have a 10 gallon with just a water bowl before with 2 firebellies, and they spend all their time in the water!!
if you go to the page with all the subjects i just posted one called "My firebellies & new tank!!"
go in their and check mine out, its mostly water and they love it!! they spend all their time in the water!

heres the new looking vivarium! i added bamboo and some fake plants and then made the back all land and the front all water so i could see the frogs better when i get them. but still no frogs yet....maybe get them tomorrow? or possibly by next weekend!

tell me what you think i should add and etc. also tell me if i really need a mister or not and whether or not i should get a background.

Yucca* thats a desert plant, dont know what you have but it must be pretty. That buddha looked great! I have a gazillion little statues lying around so maybe someday ill make a buddha vivarium. By the way it looked great so far! And you sound like me, only i ride all day inside of skating, but nothing gets done like I need it to haha.
