Thanks Lainey, he has a hiding container full of sphagnum moss which he uses all the time and I'll keep an eye on his little toes :)

no worries,any time. :)

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

Here's an updated picture of Charlie taken this evening. I didn't realise how much he'd changed until I looked back at the last picture I posted of him. The markings on his face have changed completely, and he's starting to develop the leopard pattern.

I just want to say a huge big THANKS to Lainey, for all the help and support you've given me in learning to care for Charlie. Your advice has been invaluable, and I'm sure Charlie appreciates it too. It's alway so much better to get tips for somebody who has kept a particular animal rather than reading it in books etc.

You're a star! :)

Hi Julie, he's about six inches in length at the moment, and will grow to around 8. He shed his skin at the weekend, but some was left on his toes. When this happens, it's very important to remove the dead skin, or he could end up losing them.

Willow very kindly helped me through the process of doing this, and I managed to do it with only being bitten once

I've managed to get some slightly clearer shots of Charlie. This one isn't so clear - but you can see how much his tail has fattened up..

Looking a bit sleepy.. it's funny the way he stretches out when he's asleep
