LOL! I am giving it love in that I'm not killing it. It's fine to exist in my collection if it can take the cold. I don't think it's U. olivacea. It's certainly terrestrial and when I say tiny flowers I mean like the size of a pinhead. Honestly not even too sure if they are flowers or just what.

More plants came in today!! I didn't get a chance to get a picture before the sun went down, but it's a D. capensis 'alba' which is basically an albino version of my cape sundew! It's such a little baby!!

I also forgot to mention I got more plants! These are from a benefit auction. Anyway here are the new plants!

This is D. adelae, an australian sundew. It's actually a medium light plant and will probably be put on my windowsill once it comes out of QT (I saw mealys, so at least a month for it). These plants don't do well in the continuous direct sunlight that most 'dews love.

This is my other new plant, D. capensis 'alba.' It's basically an albino version of my cape sundew. Under very bright light it will get slightly pinky, but it stays green for the most part. It's sulking a bit from replanting.

And one more for fun. This is my largest pitcher, S. flava. I'm hoping for close to 30 inches tall next year!

(Also my last update of anything before I go away for the weekend!)

Hehe. I've been holding out on you guys (well not really--more like trying not to tease you). Last Thursday my VFT from the benefit auction came in. I potted them up after dark and left before I could get pictures on Friday. So now that I'm back (and the frickin sun is out again), I have pictures!!!

This is D. 'petite dragon.' It's my first VFT cultivar! It's basically a tiny version of the 'aka ryu' (red dragon) cultivar. This little guy tends to clump and stay close to the ground. It'll be funny to see him next to...

D. 'A2'. This guy will get to be pretty darn large. It's not a common cultivar (and was actually a freebie! ^-^ ). It's actually one of the parent plants of one of the largest cultivars around, D. 'B52' (I guess someone wasn't feeling creative with names ).

I won't really get to see these beauties shine this year as the growing season is coming to a close here. We usually get our first frost in the next 3-4 weeks. I'm pulling in some plants this week, but unlike the pond (which is completely shut down in the winter) I'll still have some carnivorous babies inside!

AND!

My S. 'frogman' finally made a pitcher!! I was worried it may have been harboring some disease or something because it did nothing for the first month I had it here. But is has finally put up a (very nice) pitcher!

Now I see why it's called 'frogman'. The top kinda looks like a frog!

Only going to say this because you sided with Bekah in the great face picture debate, but....pot aren't that heavy and there are lights indoors. :P

Nice pictures and plants though. I always assumed the B52 was named for the bomber plane, but guess not if there is an A2.

That makes a lot of sense, but everything I have outside has a mandatory hibernation period. While keeping them growing year-round is nice, they tend to die off rapidly after 2 years without it. Gotta let my babies sleep!
