This is my attempt too cross over to the Darkside (not sure its going to be successful!?!)
This something I have always wanted to do but never really tried. I have had some plants grow emersed but nothing to this scale (even through its not a big tank!)
After seeing everyone else doing it and having a tank come empty I just knew I just had to try.
This is the last time you will see this tank like this.
As nice as y'all may think it looked it was the only tank I had soo it got torn down.
Tank all cleaned now.
Soo now its fill up the tank with dirt! I went with MGOCPM.
This bag was unopen but was a lil dry soo I had to add some water.
So all I need is plants now...
(Come back tomorrow for part 2 of my attempt. LoL)
OH NOES! A CLIFFHANGER!!! John, you're MEAN!!! I'll be back tomorrow for part two - and for all the other parts that come after! Can't wait to see what you do next! (even though I'm feeling a lil' bit tearful that you just ripped apart such a beautiful tank! AAHHHH!)
. . .welcome to the dryside. . . this is going to be FUN! ^.^
Haha now that I have caught your attention I guess you are expecting pics right?? Guessing this where you are saying in yes..
Well first lets get to some details of the tank (yes making ya wait again but promise pics are coming in this post or maybe the next :lol
This is a 10 gallon it does have plants in believe it or not. I have got the soil about 3-4 inches. On top is Saran wrap and a vesa top just for added measures plus my light sits on the glass. This tank has had plants in it since Sunday. The temp is running about 75° and the humidity is about 80 according to the guage which may or may not be accurate. The is a dual T8 fixture which lights both this tank and my Betta tank.
There is some driftwood and one rock in there. I might add another rock later on not sure yet. The plants are as follows Two Anubias one of which I don't know the name of and the other is A.Coffeefolia. Then there is Java moss, Java fern, and Java fern windelov. Next is a couple of Crypt wendttis I think, a crypt umm (I forgot! LoL), and a C. pontederiifolia. A couple of hygro sunset and some ludwigia. And that's pretty much all there is in the tank for now.
Heehee, you're so funny. More teasing!??
^.~
Thanks for the dirty details (woah, pun!)
Dual T8 is twice as much as I have on my 55 ^.^ I dunno how that compares to outside, but I hope they do well for you. I haven't been brave enough to pull one of my precious Anubias out of the water yet - MOST ESPECIALLY not my sweet little Coffeefolias. You'll have to keep me posted on how those do for you - hopefully ease my fears!
heehee, wouldn't happen to be a Crypt Lutea, would it?
Sorry Guys/Gals I will post pics tonight when I get my daughter to bed. We have a routine when I get home and unfortunately it doesn't involve me looking and posting on here. I come home and eat and then play we have playtime with my daughter till its bed time. Which is why I only get to post small replies. I really am not meaning to tease here. Just sometimes don't have to post everything in one post.
So I got tired of the big piece of wood on the left side of this tank. It was taken too much room and you can't really see behind it. Soo its gone! I also thought I would move the stems to the back of the tank. Well I say thought because they have already rooted into the dirt and they are kinda stuck! Would have never guessed that. Ohh and the Java Fern went MIA...... lol

These next pics are upside down and I have no clue as to how that happened but you still get the pics!
