Here's what I seem to have learned about pollinating Anubias. You need two spadix and the spathes need to open within 2 or 3 days of each other. The reason for that is because the pistil and pollen are not functional at the same time. So if Buces re the same, it might be possible, but not for me at the moment. I wonder if anyone is doing any work on cloning.

Thanks for the info Izzy. The only thing I've heard is that fungus isn't all that uncommon going from submerged to emersed. Jes checked it out and it seems a dunk for a day or two will fix that. I've heard of one person losing their entire Buce collection to bugs, but that was because they added a jewel orchid. Is the quarantining necessary? Probably not. On the other hand my emersed collection gets pricier with each new plant. I lose nothing by QTing, even if it is probably pointless. It beats the worst case scenario aka the stoke I give myself while rampaging over the loss of it all. These far, far away plants I had no clue which way they were grown. Normally when I know they were submerged I just throw them in.

That's how it looked. Much different to me than the others. I think it would have looked amazing underwater. Sorry about the pictures. I flipped it open (below) and when i tried to flip it back how it was I torn it off. So no chance for more pics. *edit* The spathe tore off, the spadix is still there.

Thank you for these lovely pictures. Something about this little beauty just captivates me. I like them all, but. . . I might favor Mentarang Kal-timur just a *smidge* above the others. Maybe. For right now, anyway. . . I still really can't choose a favorite. . . but watching how beautifully this plant in particular has grown for you always makes me smile - it's so perfect and petite! I had a feeling the spathe on this one was going to be a bit different than the rest. It's just like a lady's parasol, or a froofy party dress! Floaty and ruffled to match those tiny little leaves. . . Dainty is the word that always comes to mind when I see her (and yes, this plant is most definitely a "her," regardless of plant facts! >.<) . . . I'll go swoon now.

So as Jes pointed out I haven't updated in a while. The time from the middle of November until January is horrible at my job. This year is even worse than normal. I've had one day off so far this month. Pretty exhaustive, fried, and lazy.

A flower. Sorry I missed the unopened spathe. Well I didn't missed it, but I missed the chance to take a picture for you guys. Several plants in the big tank are showing whitening of the leaves. Why? Yeah I don't know. It's the plants that have broken out of the pots. Why is that the cause? No clue again since I haven't seen anything I can test for that is wrong. I guess it is time for a re-potting. I finally have a day off coming this week, so I guess I'll be doing that.

Right here is where I realized Photobucket deleted most of my pictures! I have the plant ones on my comp (the rest are gone forever), but this entire thread has basically become worthless.
