my aunt's pond was killed off recently (birds + small leak = dead) i could probably get 200 lbs of slate from her easy :)

Kate, you should pop down to the lakes sometime. If you go to Borrowdale there are simply tons of Borrowdale Green Slate lying around the place. I got a rucksack full from there to do my 35g. It's lovely and free! Park at Seathwaite and wander about 1/2 a mile up the pathe and there is more than you could ever use!
