Butter Balls

1 C. soft butter (2 sticks)
1/2 C. sifted confectioners sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
2 C. sifted all purpose flour
1 C. finely chopped walnuts
1/4 C. confectioners sugar (to roll them in)

Beat butter and the 1/2 C. sugar together in med. mixing bowl until creamy. Add salt, vanilla, flour and nuts.
Mix well and shape into 1" balls. Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake at 375-F for 12-14 minutes
or until light golden brown. Roll in remaining confectioners sugar while still warm. Let cool and then roll in more sugar.

Put on elastic waist pants and enjoy :)

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Crispie Cakes sound real nice. Did you save any for me??
well i would have............but this strange hypnotic state came over me
and i ate them ...........well not all of them the children ate a fair few

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

This is the very reason to NEVER own a pair of elastic pants! Who wants to get the crazy idea that it was okay to eat whatever you want because your pants still fit? The next thing you know you're living in a Hawaiian Mu'u mu'u because those elastic pants aren't working for you, game over.

This recipe sounds great, I will try it. Are these the same yummy items that some people refer to as Mexican Tea Cakes? Sure sounds like the same thing.

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...

I have no idea. Never heard of Mexican Tea Cakes. Off to Google :)

p.s. - I don't actually own a pair of elastic pants but I also don't bake cookies unless it's for the holidays. I'd be buying a mumu for sure otherwise.

Just googled and yes, it's the same recipe except for pecans instead of walnuts. Also known as

Snowballs
Russian Tea Cakes
Mexican Wedding Cookies
Italian Butter Nuts

Whatever you call them - they're yummy!

You folks are making me hungry and I'd bake those butter balls if my husband wasn't on the Paleo diet. Probably do me some good to do something in the kitchen besides water changes. BTW, Romad, I thought you were a guy until I read the part about the mumu.

100% female here. It's hard to tell until our posts make it obvious.

There might even be men out there rocking the mumus
