when did you realize you'd "made it" as a fish person?

I think it happened to me today. A friend of mine has multiple tanks, and has had fish for years... but today, I told him something he didn't know.

He said "something's wrong angelina jolie... her eye is all bulgey." (yes, he named a fish angelina jolie).

I said "Hmm. Could be popeye."

he said "Popeye? what's that?"

I explained...googled pictures... he said he thinks that's exactly what it is.

YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!! I am a fish person now? wait... is that something to be proud of?

YES....it means you are becoming competent and aware of things that pertain to aquatics...its much better than being able to recite the problems of say a trivial pop icon....good for you....

I didn't rest until i made it to the six month mark without losing any fish or having any diseases in my tanks.

Not that I rest now with all the water changes but ...... :)

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

For me it was when I was able to answer questions with confidence for people that come on here looking for help and know I was telling them right and then being backed up by others on here that know way more than I do like Byron and Aunt Kymmie just to name two of many.

Kindest Regards,

Keeping fish its not a hobby it is a passion!

I have a 55 gallon, 40 gallon, 29 gallon, 20 gallon tank, 5 gallon , and a 2.5 gallon all with real plants.
