yeah, my coworker at my last job just took a class to be a Certified Nursing Assistant. He had to do it in secrecy so the manager does not know he is going to be looking for a new job. so he can get away from min wage and get into a job that will always be needed! now he just has to save up find a job then move with his wifee!

Oh.. I'm hurting... I've been looking for a job for 2 years now.. anything. There are certain things my parents won't let me do.. like work at night in gas stations.. stuff like that. And jobs that college kids used to be taking are being filled by people who've been laid off.

It really sucks being 19 and having to BEG your parents for money just to be able to go see a movie or buy food for your fish.

Heads up! I don't what families are paying you for babysitting. I was a babysitter for 10 years as well a Nanny for 5 years. Babysitters should be getting $7-$10 an hour, nannies a higher rate. with the economy families will rip their sitter or even nanny off and not pay the amount the sitter/nanny is supposed to be getting!
if you want to make some good money, look for families that will pay $7-$10 per hour of what you deserve!

This thread is awesome, learned a lot about what kind of lives betta lovers lead! A wide variety I see!

Well for me, I'm a junior in college. I major in Equine Management and I have a minor in Business. Ever since I was little I knew I wanted a life with horses. I've come a long way on my own in the horse industry and its the only life for me. :)

When I'm not at school or riding my butt off...I work full time as a sales associate at an antique mall to pay the bills/student loans. And I have a fun part time job training young warmbloods at a local private barn, it doesn't pay as well but I learn a lot! I'm saving up for my Equine Massage Therapy Certification and I have a business plan in the works for this profession.

Anyone else a horse person?

That's great kpullen89! I was put on a pony when I was 2 and that's when I knew that I would be a horse gal. :) I've owned a couple horses and hopefully I'll be able to get a stable with lots of horses when I move out.

Jessa... I've applied to every grocery store within 10 miles of me.. I've never worked before (besides babysitting) so thats the kind of job I'm going for. Unfortunately having 3 colleges in the same town does not help with getting a job.

kpullen.. I LOVE horses.. don't have any and really don't know how to ride very well but its my lifes goal to own at least one horse in my life. The nonprofit I volunteer for involves horses so I get to work with them once a week though and I love every second of it.

Did I miss something? Seems like everyone so far is a Betta keeper. I best get to scootin'. I don't have any Bettas.
