While I love Up, and I thought Inglorious Bastards and Zombieland were awesome.. I have to say that handsdown the best movie of 2009 was The Blind Side. It just had a great story. Behind that I would say Precious then Avatar.

Haven't seen Avatar yet so I can't comment on that.

Up and Inglourious Basterds were both very good. Star Trek and Watchmen were both good as well. Another vote goes out to District 9. There are a couple I still need to see, like Ponyo, Up in the Air, A Serious Man and The Road (fantastic book but I haven't seen the movie yet).

Great movie that was completely under the radar in 2009: Moon. Highly recommended.

I also really enjoyed Zombieland, but I don't quite think it's "best of the year" material.

I'm a movie freak, maybe even more so than a fish freak. (The Oscars are my Super Bowl, LOL) I've seen every movie you've all mentioned above and the one that you didn't, and that gets my vote for best picture, is "The Hurt Locker". Avatar wowed (I saw it on IMAX 3D) with its special effects, but the story was the same old story, recycled and more nicely packaged. "Inglorious Basterds" was, IMHO, Quentin's best work ever, but not the best on 2009.

Best Documentary, "The Cove". One of the few movies I've ever seen in my lifetime that stayed with me for days and days after seeing it. Hopefully it's nomination for an Academy Award will bring just that much more pressure on the Taiji fisherman of Japan to finally end their annual slaughter of dolphins.

So, while everyone is watching the Super Bowl today I'll be at the movie theatre! It should be nice and uncrowded there today.

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...

I didn't see many movies this year, since I was running a little low on cash. I really liked The Princess and the Frog. Sherlock Holmes was better than I expected, but Avatar was kind of...meh.

Puck (Yellow koi HM king) / Scar (White HM) / Salt 'n Pepper (Silver HMPK) / 'That fish' (Copper butterfly HM) / No name (White DT) / No name 2 (Turquoise/white marble HM) / No name 3 (Lilac HM)

Bo Peep (Cambodian VT) / Goldilocks (Yellow VT) / Joie de Vivre (Multicolour VT) / Lil' Peep (Blue VT) / No name (Dalmatian VT) / No name 2

Inglorious Basterds as it's the only 2009 movie I saw. I think. And it was pay-per-view. movie theaters bother me. Well, the crowds do, anyhow. Yeah... scalps and I want me my scalps.

Really? I've loved almost every movie I've seen this year. My "DVDS to get list" got a lot longer this past year.

Saw The Road after posting about not seeing it. Incredibly bleak movie, but maybe a little more sunshine around the edges than the book. A couple little deviations from the book were a bit upsetting and I felt hurt the atmosphere to some extent, and a handful of the more disturbing scenes from the book were left out entirely. Recommended, but not for the faint of heart.

Didn't see many movies last year... nothing I saw WOWed me though. But I didn't see Avatar, inglorious bastards, UP, or startreck. They all seemed dumb, though, besides inglorious bastards. That seemed kind of interesting. As big as avatar was I oddly saw more commercials for smaller movies than that... I saw like 3 commercials total for Avatar and none of them gave me a feel of what the movie was even about... sooo w/e.

But they don't make good movies nowadays anyways. Doubt I missed out.

I loved Up. I didn't see a whole lot of the movies you all saw (except Avatar- which i thought was just okay, maybe I have to see it again to appreciate it better.)

I liked G-Force and Star Trek as well.
