16 ounces of fat contains ~4000 calories.

Rule of thumb is 3,500 calories = 1 lb. of fat. So if you reduce your calorie intake by say 500 a day, it would take you about 6 days to lose a pound.

Add excerciise to the mix and you up the ante.

well i started to sort my diet out after the diagnosis last year
of diabetes type 2…..and i've managed to shift one and a half stone.
which is good…but it's slowed right down, and it's annoying me,
and i figured perhaps i'm doing something wrong,in regards
to my calorie intake and the amount of exercise.

What works for me is eliminating bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, crackers etc... basically anything with flour and high starch content and vegetables like corn.

And sugar!

So for snacks I'll eat fruits, roasted nuts, wasabi peas (careful of sugar content). Just mix it up and don't stay on the same patterns for too long. Once you plateau, you have to change it up a bit.

You've done great so far
