Well, anything is life you can only temporarily enjoy. Some things longer than others. Flowers are not a waste of money to some people. It's just like buying a house plant, a pet fish, etc. Plants and fish die as well though they last a little longer. Take going to the movies for example, a theme park, vacation. You only enjoy it for a few days and it's over....

That's true. I never really thought about it that way.

Last year my boyfriend and I went to a restaurant that was supposed to have great food. The service was lousy and we were waiting for a table for over an hour. By the time we finally got a table I was fuming and didn't enjoy the food. We vowed never to do that again. Sadly, he lives 3 hours away, so we won't be seeing each other for V-day this year, but I told him he didn't have to do anything. I think I'm going to get him a card and send it in the mail with a little love note.hehe :P

Ah, another coconut lover! We have a local bakery here that makes the BEST chocolate covered macaroons. I never get tired of eating them. Batman, you would love them.

My B/F is out of town right now so I'll be all by myself this year on Valentine's. Totally fine by me, as it's just another day. A good friend of mine is stressing about what to do that day for his lady. He just started dating her a few months back and feels pressured to make that day special.

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...

I used to be a hopeless romantic, and would go all out on Valentine's Day. Things change as years go by. At least it did for me. We will be married 18 years this coming Sept. All is ok, but I don't really look forward to Valentine's Day like I did before. I think being a mom changed me a bit and time and seasons for all things, I guess. I "sometimes" miss those "youthful" romantic days....not that I am old but they just don't seem as important to me anymore.

I sent flowers just because it's easy. Cards are wasted paper, flowers are a waste but she is simple to please. So I got flowers. They have not arrived yet. And her bldg. closes in 45 minutes. If they don't get there I will come off the hook. They charged a $5 guaranteed delivery fee for today's delivery. Not by my choice, but hey... it's only money right. (uh-hem) They don't know me very well. They do not want me to come unglued. I will contact everyone in that company and go ballistic. Ok, ok, I'm breathing.

Just a little update. The stinking flowers were delayed in Texas. They will not be delivered, I guess until Tuesday. The bldg she works in is a gov bldg. and is closed all weekend and Monday for Presidents day. This will be the last Valentine's day that I partake in. It's crap.

I'm so mad right now I could spit fire. I pity the customer service rep that answers the phone. I'm on hold and tapping my foot impatiently.
