I bet! The areas are about as different in every way possible as can be. Been to both areas enough to truly compare.

Not sure if anybody recognizes the reference to "It Never Rains..." That's an old song from 1972 / 1973.

I've been hearing about this 'Pineapple Express' phenomenon, recently, on The Weather Channel.

Sorry about that, Flint. I had forgotten that your signature states that you're from Louisiana.

While working for a company called Ecology & Environment, I had the opportunity to travel and do environmental sampling in LA. We flew into Kenton, TN, and drove to various Texas Gas Pipeline Company compressor stations, that took us through MS, into LA. I vaguely remember being in Bastrop and staying at a Holodome in Monroe. That was my first opportunity to try things like gumbo, etouffee, and a bucket of crawdads.

Another time we traveled to New Orleans and stayed at the Ponchartrain Hotel.

They are crayfish. What I had was crayfish with Cajun seasoning. It was very tasty and very messy!

I'm one of them! Hey Jim. I do my best to make the rest of the forum want them, but lately I've been slacking on my duties! Not enough hours in the day!

There's my favorite weather girl! Turns out there's someone here called agunn, whom I vaguely remember from TerraForums. Then there's a gal from the UK that I stumbled upon, looking for butterworts, who was on CPUK. Another is a woman named Sprout, who is actually Chesh, here.

Pygmy sundews are doing pretty well, but I need to work out trades for more butterworts.

Wow! It's crazy how much overlap there is between these two hobbies. I wonder which one people tend to get into first.
