Thanks for the FishForum

After FishForum was down for over a week, I just have to say how much I appreciate it! The comments are extremely helpful, and everyone has been very polite to me.

During the "reconstruction" week when the forum was being transfered to a new server, I (gasp) joined another forum and was very dissatisfied. I had two questions about my sick goldfish, and to this day one of them has yet to be responded to. (The other one was answered, but mostly people just told me that I was being cruel to the goldfish and made me feel pretty dumb - when I had been given some very poor advice from a LFS.) When I post things here, not only do I get a fast response, I get multiple input with reliable advice.

So here's a big thanks!

Best wishes for your fishes!

Hello Julie, You do have to ignore that some people have some additudes and need ajustments... They can be hateful and rude.. Also can be obnoxious... I'm sorry you were treated that way there... I have yet to be treated wrongly there but I hope it doens't happen... I do like it here as well as people seem nice asn on the other forums people do kind of get hasty but we do have to overlook that at times... Just remember people who help us without arguing, fussing and being rude truly liek to help... :D

God Bless,

You're right, MCDaniel. Thanks for the reminder to be thankful for people willing to go out of their way to help me - especially when they don't receive any monetary reward for doing such. I am sure the other forum people intended to be helpful as well, and I should not get upset at their willingness to help me!

Best wishes for your fishes!

You don't know how much you miss something until it's gone.

Thats the reason I came here and have stayed here so long. I like the phylosophy of positive help and I try to enforce it the best I can. The first forum I was member to was ok at first but it got so bad that some long term members were very rude and it was the same half page lecture every time someone asked for a simple answer. Yes we make mistakes and do some things wrong but chastizing a member for it isn;t going to help. Correct information and then as much infromation to help with whatever the CURRENT situation is regardless of if we agree with the keeping practice or not is going to make more of an impact than telling a member they are idiots for keeping goldfish in a 10 gallon tank and not help them correct it until they can change the situation.

I hope that you, as well as every other member, always feel like you are being helped here and never being made to feel like you are being belittled or chastized and not being helped.
