i'm just starting in the hobby. in fact just yesterday i got a 10gal that came with 3 goldfish, a filter and an air pump. its quite clear that the goldfish are too large for the space so my mom is taking them at the end of the week and putting them in her 29 gal tank with her other goldfish. after that i will be trying to do a fishless cycle on the 10gal unless i can get a hold of a 20gal beforehand, as the number of small fish i want is a bit much for the 10, though i could certainly do it if i cut back on how many i put in there. and i keep reading that the bigger the tank the easier it is to care for as it stays more stable.

so i guess the long and short of it is, i'll be starting at least 1 10 gal, but hopefully i'll be able to start a 20 gal instead.
