These are my furry kids - Zeus, my mastiff, was a stray who wandered into our driveway one day. We sent him to the pound in case he had an owner. After a week, we had him home again, and he is the best dog. He was a mega chewer when he was a pup (he was about 7 months old when we adopted him) - he ate a couple of couches, a few trees, pillows, shoes.....LOL. He is such a big baby - he thinks he's a lap dog!

Midnight, my bullmastiff x, we adopted as a 4 month old pup. She is a gorgeous dog. She is so sweet. Boy, she can jump! And run! She is SO fast. What's amazing about Midnight is that she was hit by a motorbike out the front of our house (she ran in front of it, because she was chasing a hare) and she sustained a broken back. 2 vertebrae were fractured. Luckily, there was no damage to her spinal cord. After a week at the vet on cage rest, and another week at home being confined, she began to get around and walk well. I couldn't keep her confined any more - she could get out of her pen! A month after the accident, you would never know anything had happened to her.

I adore mastiffs! They are just amazing - so many people are scared of them, and all the dog wants to do is love you to death. lol And it's amazing that for such a big dog, they don't eat a lot. And they are LAZY! :)

It was a tough time with Midnight - we weren't sure if she would recover. And now I am STILL trying to train her that motorbikes aren't evil things that must be killed. She is getting much better with bikes now, though. She just races them along the fence line (we live on 5 acres, and there are heaps of dirt bikes that go past our place). I think she has just about recovered from the trauma. :)
