posting photos

I know even less about photography than I do about fish. I've got a new digital camera as well. I've taken some photos of my tanks but I have a question about the size of the photos. They seem to each be about 1.8 MB in size which seems like a huge file to me. When they are uploaded are they resized to something smaller or do I need to resize them before uploading? I looked on the FAQs for guidance as to what size the photos are supposed to be, but I couldn't find anything.

19.5KB for a jpg, bmp, etc. and 97.7 KB for a zip.

Thanks Aunt Kymmie. I managed to upload some. Hopefully they're ok. (I noticed that the sizes came up when you actually go to upload them.) My tank pictures lost a lot of detail with the resizing. You can't really see the fish which you can see in the originals. I'm going to keep trying to get some decent pictures, but it's hard when they keep swimming around

I think your pictures came out very nice and your tanks look great. I have one comment to add as far as your three tanks. I think you should add backgrounds to them. I prefer black backgrounds myself. It would hide the heater wires, etc. I think if you added backgrounds to them it would be a nice finishing touch.
