Jaysee, is that a skink? <3 reptiles. That face is throwing me...it looks like a baby goana. What is it really? My knowledge has slipped on lizards since I stopped keeping them. Used to have anoles and a huge female green iguana named Ikris.

@rsskylight04 That's the Chain Pickerel, right? Is that your favorite fish? I've never seen one, but I've heard of them, they look like they're related the the Northern Pike. That's a really awesome, beautiful fish!

I haven't been fishing in so many years. Used to be I'd go just to sit and toss my lines, never caught anything...and then one year my mother took me with her friends and their much younger kids, and I was the only one who caught fish....continuously, I felt bad. Until I caught what looked like an odd, giant pleco(was definitely pleco shaped, but was much bigger than the ones I've seen and was more of a solid dark tan color) and got to let it go because I only got it a tad on the lip. The thing must have weighed...oh, I don't even know to guess, I couldn't lift it and I was 17 and not that weak. lol
Unless I can let it go, or if someone is going to make it up for food and not waste it, I hate catching them. But...I do so love to go fishing. Just for the experience and getting to see what I caught. I'm more for the hands on approach, that way nobody can say I caught it, damaged it and let it go. =P

Did I tell you guys about the time a catfish slapped me? Little twerp. It was in the shallows just hanging out, I thought it was dead and went to look at it...it looked dead, I get closer...and slap, right in the face with the tail and the fish was gone. xD It was just a little guy....big one may have done damage. This one knocked me on my butt in the water though. Wish that was caught on film!

It's one of Agents frilled dragons. for some reason it was trying to get to me the whole time it was out. Mission accomplished - my first time holding a reptile.

Yeah that's a Chain Pickerel, hard to say its my favorite with smallmouth bass, trout, Northern Pike also on the list, but yes I love those things! Little cousin of northern pike and even more aggressive, numerous and easier to catch. Plus they get uncommonly large in CNY, and can be caught 12 monthes of the year, even through the ice! I had one in a tank once but he grew so fast I had to let him go.

I only catch and release... sadly some fish do die, but I do all I can to return every fish safely to the water.

Sounds like the fish you caught was a carp. They get huge! Over50 lbs.

No, he wasn't a carp. It looked like this but darker tan, more towards brown, with a muuuch rounder head and his dorsal wasn't as extreme. It was definitely some kind of pleco. I caught it in a huge lake with catfish and trout in the mountainey areas here in Colorado
