Nilet, you are mastering the art of abstract photography!

Anyway here's my latest uploads: the pictures from my Christmas trip to Ohio to visit family.

While we were up there we got a few inches of snow. It's nothing for people who live there but I haven't seen that much snow since I live in the mountains. I loved it!

Here, my boyfriend is helping clean the snow from my grandmother's driveway. He's a Swede born in NY so shoveling snow is like second nature for him.

While we were there we went to the Cincinnati Zoo. Nothing too spectacular and a lot of the animals were inside because they were tropical. But they have an awesome light show around Christmas. These were in one of the bird houses. Indian Flying Foxes!

This was the alligator snapper in one of the few underwater exhibits. Unfortunately I couldn't get a good shot of my favorite tank, the gar and manatee tank.

After Christmas, Erik and I spent New Years at his house on the lake. Too cold to get out and do anything but the sunsets were still pretty.

The view from inside his house. There are two more windows on each side, but since I didn't bring my tripod this is the best I could get.

Flying Fox! <3 Looove those. You guys keep putting up just the right critter pictures for me. x) Awesome.

Welcome to the forums, Vlad. =)

What is that strange....creature, Funkman? =o

I was gonna put some up of the bunny that frequents our yard...many of them, but my net is still being stupid and crashes just about every page change. Getting a post to show up usually takes about ten-fifteen tries. =-= So you will probably have no photo spam from me today. Maybe I'll take some photos today instead, no promises though! I've been sitting outside at night attempting to get the pair of coyotes for us. They're quick and shy though, and only come out at night, so I doubt I'll get any good ones.

The only thing I can think of is an alien space ship made into a human contraption... Like in Men In Black...

What. On. Earth. Is this???

The Atomium is an iconic building in Brussels originally constructed for Expo '58, the 1958 Brussels World's Fair. Designed by the engineer André Waterkeyn with interiors by architects André and Jean Polak,[1] it stands 102 m (335 ft) tall. Its nine 18 m (59 ft) diameter stainless steel clad spheres are connected so that the whole forms the shape of a unit cell of an iron crystal magnified 165 billion times.

Tubes connect the spheres along the 12 edges of the cube and all eight vertices to the centre. They enclose escalators and a lift to allow access to the five habitable spheres which contain exhibit halls and other public spaces. The top sphere provides a panoramic view of Brussels. CNN named it Europe's most bizarre building.[2]

I stole the answer from wiki as much easier than telling you myself! AND much more inforamtive! Would you like the rest of the article?

You took WAAAAAAY to long to answer me, so i decided for you. heres the rest;

Renovation

Renovation on the Atomium began in March 2004; it was closed to the public in October, and remained closed until February 18, 2006. The renovations included replacing the faded aluminium sheets on the spheres with stainless steel. To help pay for renovations, the old aluminium was sold to the public as souvenirs. A triangular piece about 2 m long sold for €1,000.[citation needed]

A model of the Atomium at Minimundus showing the support columns containing external stairs.

This is a piece of the old Atomium, in the Delft University of Technology. It will be used for scientific research.

Three of the four uppermost spheres lack vertical support and hence are not open to the public for safety reasons, although the sphere at the pinnacle is open to the public. The original design called for no supports; the structure was simply to rest on the spheres. Wind tunnel tests proved that the structure would have toppled in an 80 km/h wind (140 km/h winds have been recorded in Belgium). Support columns were added to achieve enough resistance against overturning.[3]

Enjoy!
