New Yorkers

What is the Big Apple? I watched our local soap last year which was about 2 couples visiting New York. Now, I wonder what the Big Apple is.

I'm ready for the pressure.
The drama and the pleasure!
If there is one thing I want to see here, it's HUMOR.
I believe I can fly!
I believe I can touch the sky!
I think about it every night and day!
I stand in awe of my body.

I'm so dumb. I should have researched before asking. I had a read on wikipedia and it stated that New York has 3 known nicknames: The Big Apple, Gotham and "the city that never sleeps".

And what do you reckon does "the city that never sleeps" mean? People never get to rest even during working hours?

Must learn American culture.
