For those of you who couldn't imagine how he was killed by a stingray, ok, so he swam behind it and the stingray felt threatened thus hitting him squarely by accident on the chest.

A sad event, indeed. While some may have taken issue with his methods, he did much to foster interest in wildlife and it's conservation. He will be missed by family and friends around the world. It is an unfortunate loss of life. Perhaps you can only push the envelope so far :(
