Wow I just saw it on the news. Very sad to hear Steve Irwin has died. My children love to watch his shows as do I, he will be greatly missed my heart goes out to his wife and children.

That's so sad! He was only 44 years old too, with a wife and 2 kids! Something was bound to happen to him sooner or later, but who would have thought he'd be killed by a stingray?

nobody saw it coming? he plays with dangerous animals for a living? its like playing with fire...no matter how experienced you are, one day you are going to get burnt...its sad, but ineviteable

I always thought it was going to be an animal attack or something to do with animals, but a sting ray was never in my mind. It just makes you think different on life One minute your here and the next you could be gone.

I always thought he'd get his foot bit off by a crocodile and have to retire or something, but a stingray? Must have been a huge shock to his family.
