I know Tanya loves me. I put my head up to her tank and she put her nose right against the tank wall, acting like she was giving me a kiss. Nova just wiggles, and the other boys just go to where they know the food drops and sits there.

I have to say my Bettas love the food I give them. They recognize me though I could swear it. My cory cats are too dumb to notice anything but what's on the sand to forage for and the other cory cats, no offense to them, and my tetras seem to know I'm the 'owner' lady with food.

I do think fish can love you, in a way...
I think my bettas love me- they sit and stare at me and follow me around the room when I walk... (I try not to think of them doing that because they want food lol.)
And I used to have a pair of blood parrots. Whenever someone they didn't know came in the room, they would hide. But when I was the only one in the room, they came back out from hiding, and went back to doing their normal things- arranging gravel, play-fighting, etc. Of course, they DID love their food... :D

This entire thread reminds me of that song, "If loving you is wrong, I don't wanna be right", LOL.
My fish could care less about me. All I am is the food provider and water changer. To my dogs, I'm nothing more than the ball tosser and leash walker. To my cats, I'm the can opener and litter changer. My bird, on the other hand, thinks I'm her mate and she's bonded to me. I suppose one could consider that love but it's really only natural parrot behavior. If another parrot showed up on the scene she'd drop me in a heartbeat. Nope, all I am is the giver of good things.
