when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have

It's really neat to learn more about you guys. I'll throw in my 2 cents.

I'm Izzy.
I'm 22 years old.
I have a BS in fisheries science and hope to work in aquaponics or conservation. Gamefish aren't my thing.
I've got 4 tanks and a koi pond. Two 10 gal divided betta tanks, 24 gal community that's a work in progress, and a 55 gal goldfish tank. The pond is about 4000 gal and currently bedded down for the winter.
I've been in the hobby about 5 years now, and my goldfish have been with me the entire time in the same tank. I got started with a high school project involving fish running mazes. It didn't work.
I've also got 2 dogs (black lab and a black lab mix) and 3 cats. All of them were rescues. All of them are great animals, loveable and quirky.
My favorite colors are natural blues and greens.
My favorite book is Cod by Mark Kurlansky.
My favorite series is the Millenium triology by Stieg Larsson.
I'm currently reading Four Fish by Paul Greenberg.
My favorite game has to be the Dance Dance Revolution games (letting my nerd show through).
My favorite TV show at the moment is Criminal Minds.
My other hobbies include writing short fiction, photography, hiking, and canoeing.
I'm currently listening to Vince Gill's "Let's make sure we kiss goodbye."

Hi, I'm Lisa. I'm 42,
I have 4 boys, 1 dog and 3 fish tanks, oh and a husband. We all live in Brixham, Devon. right on the South west coast of England, by the sea.
My largest tank is 50gal, south/central American Cichlids, and I have a small community tank and a small goldfish tank. I only started fishkeeping a year ago and have fallen in love with it so much I'm thinking my next project is going to be a pond.(my birthday present to myself)
I am a housewife as my boys are aged 3-16.
I love my family dearly but the best time of the day has to be 10pm when all the kids are asleep and I can sit and admire my fishy friends in peace : )
I'm terrified of dead fish ( weird or what)
I don't read books but I love the odd magazine, and an hour or two with the TV in the evening.
In a male dominated house my fav colour has to be pink!
Am loving this website and the help it gives when I have problems
