LED lighting?

Gizmodo, the Gadget Guide

If LEDs are now starting to be used to farm terrestrial plants, maybe its time to start migrating to LED fixtures for our aquariums?

I have LED in my planted tank. Being new to tropical fish, I don't know if there is a difference to my fish or plants. Of course my plants don't grow as fast as if I had brighter light, but I don't seem to have much algae growth on the tank.

There are LED fixtures for the aquaria. Its just they are very expensive if you are actually growing plants. They still run about as many watts as typical T5.... Ultra high powered LED's. Not your typical LEDS... Still much too expensive.

If you just want to use the itty bitty normal LEDs it will work out for lighting a tank, just not for plants

.... I'm probably drunk.

This is how I lurk
