Hey Flint, I have the same issues with the bladder not working sometimes after "trauma" to the body. And I also end up all the time with one nurse who is nice and one who yells at me. Exact same troubles as you!!
This will be a stressful time as you are new at this. Not sure what is right or wrong to do especially with the whole birth process and it's effects on your body, the hormonal changes that have/will hit you and the complications of the birth too. There will be lots of strange but normal things happen to your body over the next year, yes it can take that long to get back to normal for some. "Run over by a truck" describes it best!
Then there is baby and feeding. Read lots, talk & listen to experienced peeps and talk to Hubby, then decide based on what's best in your heart for Ali.
Moms need to have their 2nd baby first!!
By the time the 2nd one comes along you have experienced it all and are much more laid back and can make confident decisions for you, birth and baby2. You have all that experience to draw from!! (Not to mention new Moms you will meet just from having Ali on your hip everywhere you go that you will share experiences with!)
Go kiss your sleeping baby and let her give you some pleasure and happiness in moments of stress. You'll need your sanity for when she's crying!!
