I wasn't even born in '91, hahaha.

So, last night I broke down talking to my husband about how I feel like there are certain things I can't do anymore because we are about to be parents. Like, when do I stop wearing tight jeans with holes in them? Should I not be getting tattoo sleeves? Am I supposed to abandon wanting to get my spider bites (lip piercing) done? Can I dye my hair carrot red? Is it normal to be this freaked out and not know what to do and what's right and what's wrong because you're going to be a mom all of a sudden? My husband told me that he will tease me about my septum piercing but all in all it's my body and he supports me either way and will tell people the same thing if my capability is questioned by the fact that I have piercings and tattoos but I just feel like I'm not supposed to do these things all of a sudden. Like i need to grow up. I'm crying again typing this. Ughhhh i hate being so emotional. ):

This is all of the metal I currently have in my face -

I will be putting a retainer in my nose ring so I can get a stud on the side but I already have my tongue pierced and I have 00 gauges that I want a tad bigger. With two lip piercings (on one side), my nose, my gauges and my tongue I'm afraid people will look down on me as a mother. /:

I've got a friend... a former co-worker.... who looks a lot like you - dark hair, blue eyes, slender, incredibly pretty, but with 'metal' and tattoos, just about everywhere.

Awwwww... hugs so that you can stop crying ((()))

Flint, you're the only one who can decide what to do with your body. Whether you're in a pink frilly dress with patent leather shoes and a bob haircut or have full body piercings and a million tattoos, you will be a great mom regardless.

Maybe you're just coming to the point where you think that some of your outward expressions aren't necessary anymore? Again, you decide. And kudos to hubby for letting you be you!

Certain people are always going to judge. The heck with them. I think you're gorgeous!

I still want piercings and tattoos, I just feel like for some reason it makes me a bad mother. It doesn't make sense, I know it's completely irrational but idk. I fed my DG a flake and the ghost shrimp I added yesterday started glass surfing looking for some, it was so cute and definitely made me feel a bit better. On my way to my appointment!!

Good luck at your appointment!

My husband is a tattoo artist, if that tells you how I feel about it. XP
My girls think mommy is GORGEOUS with blue hair, and then we discovered hair chalk (and that it actually washes out of even my daughter's fair locks!)
Just be ready for her to draw her own sleeves on with markers - or you could roll with it, like I do, and draw them on for her! ^__^

Everything you do will affect your daughter, it's up to you to make it positive, or negative - it really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.
These things you've mentioned? They're ALL superficial.
If you have tats, or piercings, dress like Martha Stewart or have more of a tattered look - these don't matter, don't define you as a person, and the associated stereotypes aren't always valid.
The lesson of beauty from within is a VERY important one for little girls to learn early.

Nurture her spirit, and teach her how to love - the rest will follow. . . <3
