Yeah, that I did too. It really irritates me when I go to someone's profile and see nothing but farmville updates on it.

My g/f plays it. I'll be out with my mercenary alliance mates in Eve hunting war targets and hear this mouse click click click click... Look back and say what are you doing? Planting crops. huh? Silly game. Hell, Atari is moar gooder than Farmville.

I use facebook mainly for talking with friends to be quite honest. I got quite a few people on there too, and I try to make an effort and talk to a lot of people. I don't use it for games, quizzes, and all that nonsense. One thing annoys me: Emo status updates. I don't care about sad things in your life. I only want to hear happy things.

I had to block status updates from this girl I know because of their emo nature. Seriously...this girl would update her status maybe ten or twelve times a day to whine about her boyfriend leaving her. She did this for MONTHS after they broke up. Obnoxious.

Another friend is one of those party animal types and EVERY SINGLE DAY would "attend" club events at like a dozen different night clubs all over the world. I seriously doubt she's going to clubs in D.C., Baltimore, NYC, London, Berlin and Dubai all in one night, EVERY NIGHT. Her updates got blocked, too.

I'm seriously considering blocking a guy I've been friends with since kindergarten because he's obsessed with those Facebook games. I have Farmville blocked so I'm not sure if he plays that, but he plays all of those various Gang Wars and Mafia Wars and Mobsters games. He plays them faster than I can block them!

This is why I can't stand this kind of stuff. Twitter included. I've never used it and never will. But I know what it is. My question is: What makes these people think that everyone out there cares what they are doing this very minute or how they feel this second? Everyone wants to be a celebrity. pfft.

I update my status maybe once a week on Facebook, but not to mundane stuff like, "I'm doing laundry." I use my status updates mostly to post funny links or other things I think people might enjoy reading about.

I'm totally with you on Twitter, though. Completely useless. It's literally just the status update part of Facebook with no other features to make it worthwhile.

I won't even check out Farmville. No interest whatsoever here.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Oh heck Farmville, Mafa War & Co was BLOCKED as soon as that stuff came out...This whole "John lost a cow" heck no....

I like it; like us we have friends & family literally all over the world and it does make it a nice tool to stay in touch easily and share pictures - For that part I like it.

Hahah! I love it when people send me invites to games...because then that's another thing I can block. I block every single one of them, so when they send me an invite I like to think of it as help to help me rid my facebook of all of it. And that's what I use my status for, either to state a funny/nonsensical thing, or I post a link. And don't get me started on how stupid I think Twitter is.

I agree with every post above! Farmville is about the most ridiculous thing I've come across. I can understand why my 11 yr old nephew has fun playing it but the people I went to high school with? Pleeeeze. Twitter? Useless. Except wasn't there a story way back when where some guy used twitter to alert friends to his location (he was being held hostage somewhere) and he was able to be rescued? My memory is fuzzy on the story and I'm too lazy to go google the story.
The one thing I do like Facebook for is to read the daily surf updates from my friends who are fellow surfers. One of my friends also posts an evening sunset pic every night and I think that's pretty cool.
