I need to get this off my chest and out in the open before I just break down and cry.
I am so tired and sad from seeing so so SO many posts and threads on here where people have 8 or 9 fish crammed into a tiny 3 gallon tank, or huge predator fish in a 20, or a betta fish in a fraction of a gallon bowl. I don't understand how people can do this and think it's fine, or that it's okay, and refuse to believe otherwise, even when someone with 50+ years is trying to explain it to them? I do not understand that mindset.
What ever happened to RESEARCH? It takes about ten seconds to type something in to google and see how to properly take care of a fish. I cannot understand how people think they know better than a million other tried and true methods. How can people be so gullible as to trust the word of a pet store owner without going home and double checking the information, when it is as easy as two clicks of a button?!
I don't understand how this is even remotely acceptable or proper, or how people think that it's all fine and dandy even though their fish are dropping like flies.
It makes it even WORSE when such an individual asks for help and then completely disregards all the advice, because it's not the quick fix thing they wanted to hear. If it's not what they want to hear they just tune you out and keep on with what they're doing because they refuse to believe they could be wrong. It makes me physically sick and I just want to curl up and cry.
Sorry to be a downer but I just had to write this and let it out before I exploded into tears. I should probably stay away from the internet after taking hardcore pain pills after minor surgery.
