So today, I went to my LFS pick up the glass I had cut for my vivarium(thats another story, ill post in the DIY section), and I was looking around while he was cutting the last two pieces...
When he had finished up, he was making sure he cut them right and showing me he cut them exactly to size. When he had finished showing me that, I asked the owner if he had any positions vacant to work because i'm finished high school and am looking for a part time job to pay for fish stuff. He says to me "Yeah sure, I have a postion, when are you available to work"
I was freaking out at that point, and he started smiling at my reaction.(I didnt think he would say yes!!!) He is like, You can come in Mondays and thursdays for 6 hours a day, on low pay though. I said to him, yeah sure, for me its more about learning more about fish keeping then the money, but the money does help.
Then he starts telling me all my duties ill have as an employee, and all the discounts ill be getting on fish and products, and i started flipping out, BIG TIME!!!
He starts explaining to me that if like for instance, he is making a peacock moss wall, and he has some offcut he doesnt need, I get to have it for free...
Eventually when I'm experienced enough, hes going to teach me how to makke tanks, and eventually custom shaped tanks, and I can start taking unneeded tanks home for free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At the end of all this excitement he tells me that he'll be paying me only $45 australian dollars per 6 hours, but it will go up slowly as my experience increases. And I get cash in hand, so no taxes LOL.
When I go to pay for the glass, i had left a $20 deposit and was supposed to pay $20 more. He says to me, oh ill take $10 off that because your NEARLY an employee. I was laughing so hard at that point. State of ecstasy
Anywayz, I just had to share with you guys, cause im so excited I nearly busted my two sisters ear drums when I came home...
Thanks for reading!!!
