after the dwarf huh? LOL!

reminds me, for valentine's day one year my mom gave me a pjs top and pants saying it was from my dog for v-day (LOL) and it says on it "I'm Grumpy, what's your excuse?" and it had a pic of the dwarf on it :P

I think your toad is awesome! I wish I had one. I had to look her up. I think that's an american toad and they bury themselves when it's getting colder or some people say it's to absorb moisture from the soil. Here's her Wiki!http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_toad

Oh that's neat! I checked on her this morning and she was still buried and than I checked on her a couple hours later when the sun was out and she was above the soil.

Used to have a few frogs...White's Tree Frog and some Fire Bellies...He/She would not have been having any "babies," Toads, like frogs, do the tadpole thing...therefore, you're right, they need a body of water to breed!!! And...you're research was correct as well, the toad was staying warm in the cold AND it was absorbing water through it's skin...that's how they stay hydrated.

Yeah, it was just so funny how her butt was in the hole like female turtles do when they lay their eggs. :P Than I was like waittt don't they give birth to tadpoles??
