How much do you spend on fish?

I went a bit over what I thought the budget was gonna be setting up for my new incoming bettas, but after all the years away from tropical fish, it is going to bring me a lot of pleasure to have them in my home again.
I remember a looooong time ago (I'm a senior citizen) when my allowance was 25 cents a week I'd go to the lfs every few weeks and actually be able to buy something. The betta setup bill came to a little more than that...

Hello Lucille and welcome to TFK

I'm honestly afraid to think of how much I've spent over the years between the plants, fish, meds, equipment, upgrades, food etc... etc.. etc...

But since I hate to shop for clothes and shoes (yes, I'm a female) I'm probably still ahead of the game LOL.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Yup. Now if I could just get someone to come in every week and do my water changes....

I here you there. The only time I buy new clothes is when the old ones have holes in them.

I... don't want to think about how much I've spent on fish. My mother still refuses to tell me how much it cost to set up the koi pond. The only thing she tells me is that it was my graduation present and comparable to a car.

I've spent way more than I care to look back on for getting my guys all set and happy in their tanks.

I need to buy some more plants though...and some more river rocks for Big Reds tank...maybe a few more Marimo moss balls. *sigh* It never ends! *snicker*

But, at the end of the day...regardless of what I've spent...my fish are happy, I'm happy, and I enjoy watching them have fun in their tanks. :)
