Thumbs up House Full Of Dogs

Thought I'd share some pics of my rescue dogs. I'm heavily involved in animal rescue, volunteering with several rescues and with an animal control facility. All on top of the rescue work that I do by myself on the side.

These are all my guys... some are failed fosters, others I took in knowing they were here to stay. Most are here due to medical problems or emotional/behavioral problems, and I felt they were better off here... the sanctuary for the unwanteds, LOL.

This is Bo, an 11 year old Beagle. Bo just earned his AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen) certification a few weeks ago. We're working towards his therapy dog certification this summer, in hopes that he can do a little therapy dog work.

This is my half-dozen Doxie's. All were ex-breeders from a large-scale puppymill, except for Gage. Left to right is Callie (6 years old), Gage (1 year old), Rosie (3 years old, and has a genetic spinal deformity, oral deformity, and a genetic skin disease), Mattie (13 years old, he was born blind and deaf), Caeli (5 years old) and Gracie (10 years old, has a liver problem and IVDD disc disease).

Annie, my 9 year old Whippet mix. Annie suffers from several heart problems, IVDD disc disease and hip dysplasia.

Audubon, my 9 year old English Pointer/Dalmation mix

Emmy, my 3 year old Chihuahua mix. Emmy has canine epilepsy.

Sam, my 2 year old Beagle/Rat Terrier mix. Sam has an immune system disorder, that makes him susceptable, and deathly allergic, to many common substances.

Lily, my 3 year old Shih Tzu. Lily is partially blind in both eyes from scars, due to past abuse and neglect before she came here.

Katie, my 5 year old Bassett Hound/Beagle mix

Jake, my 12 year old Shih Tzu. Jake came here a couple years ago with several heart problems.

Triumph, my 2 year old Shih Tzu mix. Triumph had been found anorexic and nearly dead, after being shot and dumped in a ditch.

And I've posted this photo before, but here is my whole group...

That's all! 8)

What a wonderful person you are for taking these poor unwanted and abused dogs into your home and heart.
There should be more people like you in the world.

I got sick to my stomach when I read about Triumph. I'll never understand how people can be so heartless and cruel.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

And I thought that I had a menagerie. They're all so good, sitting together to have their photo taken

They're all adorable...I just have one question. How did you get them all to sit still for a picture? I only have 3 and it's

They're all so cute! Im so glad you took them in and gave them a wonderful home. The daughter of a neighbor of mine rescues dogs and the ones she can't place in a good home she keeps.

Thanks everyone! As far as the group photo, it's amazing what you can accomplish when holding food in your hand and screaming "TREAT!!!" LOL!

Oh gosh doggyhog, I couldn't imagine walking them all at once, lol. What a sight that would be! We have a 1/2 acre of our land fenced in for them, just open the back door and let them go out to run and play. They do get to go different places, like to the park, out to the river for a swim, or to the lake, but only 1-2 at a time, never all at once, lol.

Wow, that's wonderful that you do that! They're all so cute and look very happy with you. :) Yeah, that's amazing that you got them to sit still for the picture. I have 3 dogs and there's no way I can get all 3 of them together for a picture.haha

Teeny- what amazing work you do. If everyone in the world were half the person you are we wouldn't have any neglect or abuse of dogs. Your dogs may have come to you with behavorial and emotional problems but as evident from your group photo your love and hard work has paid off. Bravo to you!!

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...
