Thanks everybody I'm happy too! Poor Maxx wouldn't wanna leave my side all of the rest of the day and his lil girl Precious was ALL OVER him when I brought Maxx home yesterday. Whenever he has to go into the Vet all day she's going CRAZY at home she does NOT like being separated from him to say the least.

@stephanieleah did you actually know that you can buy most pet meds at any given pharmacy like Walgreens/ Walmart yaddy ya as long as your have a persription (dep on the State law)?? I learned that yesterday I didn't know that and supposedly if you call around the different pharmacy's not only get it from your Vet it can be quite some $ saved right there. I had no idea about this.

You mean you can save money getting the meds from a pharmacy rather than getting it from the vet's? I didn't know you could get pet meds from a regular pharmacy but then, I haven't had dogs or cats for years, so I wouldn't know. lol

YAY for MAXX and mommy (and daddy too)!!! So glad to hear he is doing better! I hear ya about Precious missing Maxx. Our female cat had to go in the vet's office overnight for testing and our male cat spent the entire night walking around meowing and crying. And I mean the ENTIRE night. As soon as the female cat came back, he was following her all around and would lay next to her when she laid down. He wanted to make sure shewasn't going anywhere again. It was the cutest thing ever (after the meowing and crying stopped!). Give that fluffy Maxx another pat of the head for me

I didn't know neither until the Vet actually told me that I will call around and see who's carrying that Insulin just cause I'm curious to see now how much their charge would be vs the Vet's $90 for JUST the insulin (The whole "day trip" ran me 250 again yesterday....I love my doggies thou)

=O wether she may not have known or not the doctor should have taken that junk off the shelves and sent letters to his patients who use it that could have really done some ireperable damage heck he coulda had a lawsuit on his hands if you hadn't cared enough to read up (I have plenty of diabetics in my family and things can getkinda scarry wen things go wrong)

Natalie, do you have to get a prescription from your vet to get the meds somewhere else?

My mother is diabetic and is on 2 different types of insulin. She took the wrong one twice in one year and overdosed and had to be rushed by ambulance to the hospital. It is VERY scary, especially when the 911 dispatcher didn't see it as an emergency and took their sweet time getting there and my mom could have gone into a diabetic coma if I hadn't just about drowned her in orange juice to keep her sugar level from plummeting.
