Poor little rat.

I have two pet rats myself, one furry and one hairless. I only got the furry one, because the hairless rat is supposed to have a furry buddy to keep warm.

Bettas: Rose, Sophia, Addie, Ghost, Buster, Holt, Aidan, and Mercutio!

where i grew up , we use to get those rats all the time.....more field mice than we did rats...we had a pool out in the country, we'd find one or two every single morning...we got use to it after a while!!!

We had mice in the house and I could hear them running through the walls. A baby one crawled up the heating grate and my Yorkie decided to walk over and lick it.haha My parents got a thing that you plug in and it sends out an ultrasonic sound that they hate. It's also for ants. So far it's been working; haven't heard any mice and we haven't seen as many ants.

although i don't like wild rats, that's sad how it died,
perhaps still put something in the pond for future critters to be able to get out.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

Awww. Poor little rat. I used to have mice in my house that would end up being my cat's toy. I bought an ultrasonic thing that I plug in, so far, no more mice, or bats! Yes, there was a bat in my basement at one point in time last year.
