Wilbur Smith and Bernard Cornwall for there in depth research, and Shaun Hutson for the shear graphical nature of his writing.

I have loved every Bret Easton Ellis book so far, namely American Psycho, but also I thought Lunar park was excellent also.

Red Dragon/Silence of the Lambs/Hannibal/Hannibal Rising are all excellent also so Thomas Harris would have to be one.

I've only read De Sade's Vallet by Nikolaj Frobenius so I couldn't really say he's a great writer, only that he wrote an excellent book.

What about you Daisy?

I used to be a huge fan of Glen Cook. The Black Company novels were my favorite. But I got pissed off when he took his 5 year break on the series. Now adays I just read tech manuals or history books.
