an explination please

computer minded people.........
please could you explain to me the thing called " an IP address"
thanks.

when you set up a new tank,hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor,that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

Hi Lainey, IP stands for "Internet protocol address." This is a unique series of numbers that identify computers on the Internet. Each computer connected to the Internet must have its own IP address, and each Web site must similarly have an IP address. It's kind of like a home address but for computers, and much the way a telephone number identifies a telephone on a telephone network. The number will normally be assigned by your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

IP addresses consist of four numbers between 0 and 255, separated by dots. Hope that helps :)
