Meat on Fridays again!
My mother is making me go to Church. I don't like the whole, "If you don't go to church, you're going to hell" thing she's been riding since she started bible study. I'm comfortable with my worship style. :/

We'll probably go to church then spend the rest of the day by ourselves.

Your mom too?? My mom gave up on that threat and quit saying it to me once I moved away from home. She knew I'd never come back to visit if she didn't! LOL

All of this food talk has made me remember just how lame the food's gonna be at my grandmother's. My grandmother on my dad's side was one heck of a cook but my mom's mom just isn't up to the task. I remember one year for Thanksgiving she said something along the lines of, "the recipe says to baste this thing every half hour or something. Pffffffff, as if." I was like, "cool! I can't wait to eat this dry, flavorless turkey..." I'm expecting her Easter cooking to be equally bland.

Pork is great! I mean...bacon, people, bacon! Some types of ham are decent but others are just plain awesome (capicola, anyone?). Let us also not forget the joys of sausage. And don't even get me started on barbecue! Pulled pork, ribs and wings would make for a heck of a lot better meal on Easter than the typical glazed ham, if you ask me.

Yeah, now I'm thinking about bringing my own food to eat.haha I can't stand ham! Hopefully my aunt will have a lot of food so I don't have to eat it. She makes an amazing egg salad! Yumm.lol

Haha sounds like a plan doggyhog! I saw a beautiful red butterfly VT at Petsmart the other day and I wanted to get him sooo bad, but I refrained myself.lol

It seems both our mother's follow that same turkey cooking recipe! Luckily they don't have access to our forum to read our disparaging comments on their cooking, LOL.

+1 to Iranian food, and Indian food too! I used to have a neighborhood couple (husband Pakistani, wife Iranian) and being invited to their house for dinner was an amazing treat. Sadly they moved away last year to a bigger and better house.

That's too bad about their moving away! If I knew how to cook, I'd send you some Iranian food. ;)

I like some Indian and Pakistani food, but I can't handle spice at all! My mom loves it, though.

well now,we don't celebrate Easter in the church kinda way,and we
don't actually do much,i will have a new foster placement for the weekend, and
i would imagine the little one will want to do plenty of this....................

i would also however i'm following a low carb diet,so ribs and bacon, and beef sausages
will be on my list of foods, along with loads of wonderfull veg.
but if one of these happens to fall my way,i won't be held responsible
for my actions.
