An 8.8 earthquake hit Chile near the coast. Hawaii's expecting a tsunami any moment and there's a warning for the west cost of America including Alaska, Washington, and California. Guess where I live! Anyone else going to possibly be affected?

I live less than a mile from the beach here in California but I'm sure any tsunami that hits Hawaii will dissipate before it ever reaches my beach. Where do you live? Are you in the islands? I've got quite a few friends living there, I hope they don't get hit.
I'm glad Chile didn't get the death and destruction that could have been possible with such massive richter scale reading.

I've been concerned too, about a tsunami hitting the west coast. I guess no surfing today, Kym.

Alot happened so recently. The Haiti earthquake, Tillikum killing a trainer, a cruise ship hitting land and killing 4 crew members, and then this.

If I lived on the left coast I would be keeping an ear out just in case. Never know what could happen.

Me too! I'm in Carlsbad, are we neighbors?

Drama, they'll be no surfing for days! All this rain drives up the bacteria count in the water. Not safe to go out until 72 hours after the last rainfall. Good excuse to stay in and watch movies, if I can ever tear myself away from this forum!
