ok so this is something i wonder about often, and just to clarify - im not a raving lunatic, i genuinley would like to hear your opinions...

what are everyones opinions on the existence of extra-terrestrial lifeforms? not necessarily in stereotypical alien form like the grays or "little green men", but more as a general concept.

do you believe they exist? what are your reasons for believeing or not believing so?

I'd say yes. If you think about the number of galaxies, each of which have a large number of solar systems, each of which have a number of planets. Even if the chances were one in a million for each planet, there'd still be a gazillion planets with life on them. Mathematically, I think that the chances of earth being the only planet with inteligent life on it are slim to none.

I believe in aliens for the simple fact humans CAN'T be the most intelligent life out there.

i definitely do believe that "we're not alone" however im not so sure that weve ever been visited by them. i believe that if ever we were to be visited, it would be by some sort of mechanical device or whatever their equivalent would be. the chances of them being able to survive out atmosphere/climate/gravitational force etc is highly unlikely, and if they are indeed intelligent, theyre not going to want to risk just coming down for a wee visit themselves. just like we put robots on the moon and on mars before we ever sent people, i believe this will be the way we one day encounter alien lifeform on this planet.

also, as human life is extra-terrestrial by definition (according to the big bang theory which most scientists and many people accept as the way the earth was created) therefore, there could easily be some form of alien lifeform out there just as we arrived here, they have arrived somewhere else.

also, all the evidence to the contrary just isnt entirely dissuasive imo

...im not mad, honestly

i think there is, but all are still in 0 class civilization, i dont think there is any 1st class, 2nd class or 3rd class yet. (this first second third stuff is off a documentary of planetary civilizations, if you dont understand then oh well :))

Absolutely

You have Elvis, Elton John (love his music but some of those outfits), Dennis Rodman, and Michael Jackson.

But seriously, why not?? I know I'm going off the deep end here but did you see Men in Black II? They had the little guys living in a locker and then later you had the humans opening a door and revealing they were in a locker.

I think there are too many unexplained things out there to simply dismiss them. We all have a place on the "bigger" picture. I agree with hammdogg:
