Last night I tried mussels for the first time ever. They weren't fresh, but from a jar. I'm not too sure if I liked them or not

salt water sea food always buy frozen. They freeze it on the boat after they catch it and depending on what it is it spends the rest of its shelf life frozen.

Well for those that don't live on the coast buy it frozen. I get 90% of my fresh right off the boats when I can.

As far as cooking the seafood, it is fine to boil shrimp, squid, and even fish as long as you don't add anythng to it but sea salt if anything. My fish looked at me like I was stupid when I tried raw shrimp on them last year. Now I feed them the cooked when I have some I am willing to share.

Well, I'm a vegetarian - so that pretty much eliminates any guilt I may otherwise have felt! :D
