fishkeeping is about enjoying the fish, if there is a fish you really want, it might just be worth the investment. I used to only get the same couple of cheap fish, like neon tetras but then i realized that the threadfin rainbows i had been looking at would have made me much happier than watching my neons all the time so i bought them and it was awesome.
