Thanks for the lovely comments everyone. :)
When I got to the Botanic Gardens on Saturday, I was absolutely amazed and delighted to discover that inside one of the glass houses, there were two massive ponds which come up to around waist level. In the first tank, there are community tropical fish. Thousands of them! The ponds are full of plants from the fishes natural habitat.
There were guppies, platys, corys, plecos, apple snails the size of my hand and I don't know what else. There were thousands of fry swimming about and it was amazing to look down and see them in an environment much closer to that which they come from.
The second pond had South American Cichlids. As you can probably imagine - that was me. I wasn't really interested in going any further round the gardens and eventually had to be dragged away by some rather bored mates
Anyway, I'm going to go back in a few weeks and I will take loads of pictures of the two ponds and post them here. :)
