Hi everyone I believe you need to have posted in the forums about 25 times before it will let you in to the Chat Room. Just keep posting, even if it's just, "hey I like the pics of your tank. " Eventually you will have the needed number to enter the room. They just want a little commitment to the Forums here before you enter as the chat room is not monitored and this way it should keep out those with bad intentions. Looking forward to talking to you... keep working on it. lol.

Nope. Not unwanted. In my old mod days, we had to adjust it to about 10 posts minimum requirement because some new members who frequented the chat used it to spam chat with their ads.

Sent from my desktop or phone or whatever else I am holding on to

The post requirement is probably the number one kill on chats, because its the new members that actually need them for important stuff. It would work without the post requirements if the mods wanted it too.

.... I'm probably drunk.

you just need to keep checking it or leave it open in a tab and forget about it. Chat will make noise when someone posts, at least it does on my computer.

Good point. I'm going to put it on the table and see what the consensus is. I "think" that part of the problem for not allowing instant ability to chat is you always run the risk of someone joining just to cause problems and who wants to deal with a troll in the chat room? By restricting access until so many posts have been added we can usually avoid that by weeding them out. This is just a guess on my part. I'll find out the reasoning and see if it's something we want to change.

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...
