Caterpillars I have been raising(pic heavy)

This summer I bought some caterpillars to raise. Only one type, but I quickly gained more. I don't have a lot ATM, kinda in a low spot. 13 cocooned cercropia caterpillars, 4 monarch chrysalises, 4 giant swallow tail caterpillars (one is cocooning). Then a male monarch butterfly that emerged this morning, I've released half a dozen so far.

Cercropia are always my favorite. They get huge at 4" long and have a very unusual temperance. They change appearances alot during there lives Also giant sticky feet! They have all cocooned and will wait out the hard winter before coming out in spring. Here is a video of them as they grew.

Cercropia after they hatch

Monarchs- Here is a video of a male butterfly.

Giant swallow tails, they camo as crap. They also pretend they are snakes and if poked stick out a fake snake tongue. They do the same as the cercropia and will cocoon over winter and emerge in spring.

The "mature caterpillar" picture made me cringe. But I think it's amazing at the same time.

Those are great pics, thanks for sharing. I, like Romad, cringed at the shot of the mature caterpillar on your finger. Not the caterpillar but the fact that you had such a LARGE caterpillar on your finger! Euuww, I love caterpillars and can pick them up but NEVER one that big. Nice video, too!
