Well as of today I have just one luna caterpillar left to cocoon. About 24-48 hours after they cocoon I strip most the leaves off their cocoons and they go in a box where they will spend the next 9-10 months. Soon the cecropias will join them.


I have about 10 cecropias this size and I will be surprised if they last till the end of the week. Still amazes me every year that a little 1/8" caterpillar can become a 4" giant in about 40 days. I have tons of these guys still. Many I will be releasing soon or giving to nature centers. I'm going on vacation the 25th and most all caterpillars need to be cocooned or gone by then.






And caterpie is growing nicely as well. Below is a video of me pissing him off. ^_^
