are there any good fish buying websites, or should i just stay away from online fish purchases.

I've always been way too apprehensive to try buying fish online. I remember reading a post by Cody quite awhile ago where he bought clowns from www.liveaquaria.com and he was very pleased with his purchase. I know many members have purchased off www.aquabid.com and the results I've read have been a mixed bag. Bummer you don't have a decent LFS nearby. Have you tried a local tropical fish society? We have one here in San Diego. I read that members bring fish prior to the club meeting in order to auction them off. I may look into that myself. There's always www.craigslist.com I see ads for people selling fish on there all the time. Just some ideas I decided to throw out there.

You're welcome. I forgot to mention that usually there is an "arrive live" guarantee attached to these online purchases. They differ from site to site as far as to how many hours or days they will honor their guarantees in regards to the "wellness" of the fish they ship. Good luck with your research.

Usually the live guarantee only covers the fish, not the shipping cost.

I have ordered from Aquarium Fish, Saltwater Fish, Freshwater Fish, Tropical Fish, Corals and Invertebrates, Live Plants Pond Fish, Pond Plants, Aquabid (be sure to read seller reviews there) , and Frank's Aquarium-Freshwater Crustaceans, Hillstream Fishes, Gobies, and more.
I have not had a problem with any of my orders. Frank was absolutely great to buy from.

ok yea i always try to read reviews about places before i buy anything. as for the time being im gonna let the tank be and not put more fish in there but i wanna just look around to try to find the good places to buy from, cause im moving in a month or so and im gonna get hopefully a bigger tank. but also, when i move what is the best way to transport the fish? it will be a long drive, im moving from florida to virgina

how many hrs of a drive is it? you may want to rehome them or try a 5 gallon bucket with a battery powered power head.
