Any petsitters out there?

I was just wondering if any of you petsit and if so, what do you charge? I petsit but one person, whom I don't sit for as of tonight, was only paying me $5 to walk her dog twice a day.I really don't know what to charge people. Any advice or opinions?

That's way too low to be charging for walking a dog twice a day. Just for fun I googled it and here's a link for you.

I dont petsit very much but I have people watch my pets. I had my friend who also has reptiles watch my snake and 2 lizards for a week and gave him $40 because I had him doing a lot. Misting 3 times a day, feeding after lights out every night for the lizards. Once for the snake. I watch my neighbors betta when they go on vaction and they gave me $20 for dropping in a few fd bloodworms once a day haha.

I charge $15.00 per dog, per day, which includes ONE walk. Two walks per day is 25.00 per dog, per day. Overnight sleepovers are $30.00 per dog. It seems every week that I've got someones dog that I'm taking care of. I've got dogs myself so adding more is never a problem. The B/F thinks I should actually go into the business of doing it. (The dogs I take care of all belong to friends). I agree with Romad, you need to be charging much more! It seems someone is taking advantage of your good nature...

Well, I don't have to worry about it now. She let me go. She never left me my money on fridays so she had to bring it to my house on weekends. We weren't always home and she would never call before coming. Then today she leaves me a note saying she came by twice yesterday and we weren;t home. Try calling to see if we ARE home, dummy! And she underlined the word TWICE. I was kind of offended by that. My Mom went ballistic and called her and left a message. . Then she shows up at my house and asks for her key!! I always did extra stuff for her like cleaning up broken pottery that the dog knocked over and putting stuff away thast he dragged out of the cabinets. All for 5 dollars a day! Oh, and this year she raised my pay to 5 dollars a day. I started out at 3 dollars a day!

If you ever become rich and famous you can say "Yes and at one time I walked a dog for $3 a day!!"

ROFL! That song went through my mind shortly after that woman came by to get her key and pay me for yesterday. I had 3 messages from her on my cell phone and after she got home, she called my house phone probably to talk to my mom.
Kym- Yeah, my mom called someone else a few months ago, on my behalf. I was walking one evening and got stopped by some girl who asked me if I had a dog. I said no I don't. She said "well someone's dog is pooping in my yard and it's disgusting". The thing is, that girl was not a homeowner and was the girlfriend of the homeowner's son. My mom called the homeowner and told her what happened and said if there were any complaints about anything then they should take it to the board and should come from her instead of the girl that was living there.
