I can't remember - I don't think they did! LOL

Either that or my parents were really good at finding replacements.

The poor fish did start vanishing one by one - I think it was our cat though. She was a master at fishing, and way back then (over 30 years ago) we didn't have lids on the tank. Oops!

Crazy... I never thought there would be so many young people here! It's awesome to see so many people who are so passionate about the hobby at a young age... makes me a little jealous, since I only discovered the wonders of fishkeeping a year ago (when I was 27).

Well starting late isnt a bad thing, probably better for the fish since I didnt even know what a cycle was until I was around 16, so basically my fish were tormented by constant cycles, missed WCs because I just kept changing out the filter media and never changed the water. When there was a lot of algae, I just poured algecide. It was a mess, kinda wish I had started later when I understood how to do research and was tall enough to actually work on the tank myself...

as often as they complain about us (and i can say that because i have children 6, 14, and 18 myself) they learn a lot from us and often take it to the next level .....
